Margretta "Marg" M. Porter, 77, of Derry, NH died Sunday July 4, 2010 at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home, Derry. Mrs. Porter was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio on January 5, 1933, daughter of the late Clayton and Georgette (Delgouffre) Gaumer. She had resided in Derry for the past 50 years, formerly living in Mount Vernon. She was employed by Sears Roebuck & Co. as a salesclerk for many years. She enjoyed volunteering at the West Side Community Center in Derry and served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Derry Boys and Girls Club. She was also a member of the Derry BPW.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Porter and his wife Susan of Nashua, NH and Gary Porter and his wife Mary, of Derry, NH, seven grandchildren, Gregg, Kim, Amy, Carrie, Nicole, Jesse and Joshua, a brother Ronald Gaumer of Montana, several nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law, Tina Gaumer of Hollis, NH. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Porter in 1993, and a brother, Denmon Gaumer in 2009.
Calling hours were held on Thursday July 8, 2010 from 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Greater Derry Boys and Girls Club, P.O. Box 140, E.
