Obituary

Auburn – Alberta M. Travers, 90, of Oxford, died on Monday, July 5th in the Lifecare Center of Auburn.

Mrs. Travers is survived by a daughter Leah A. Rice and her husband Robert of Oxford; a son Albert Plaud and his wife Deborah of Worcester; four step daughters Magdeline, Patricia, Mary and Julie Ann and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Alberta is predeceased by her second husband Alphonso Travers, her first husband Philip Plaud Sr.; a daughter Louise Barrett; three sons Philip Plaud Jr., Robert Plaud and Ernest Plaud Sr.; a grandson Ernest Plaud Jr. and a brother and a sister.

She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, crocheting and watching the Boston Red Sox. Alberta lived her life doing for others, always wanting to make everyone around her happy. She had a way about herself that was very infectious, with her smile, her laugh and her sense of humor. Her family and friends will miss the dinners that they all shared with her, the time spent gardening over the years, playing cards, eating her piccalillys and her homemade stews and the joy in her face when she was around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alberta will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Gramma we love you and you will never be forgotten!!

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 8th at 10:00 AM in St. Ann’s Church 654 Main St. North Oxford. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are on Wednesday, July 7th from 6 to 8 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester.
