Laconia----Medric H. Whittier, Jr. 56, of 107 Academy Street, died at his home on Saturday, July 3, 2010. He was born in Shirley, Mass. the son of Medric H. and Barbara (Nichols) Whittier Sr. He had lived most of his life in Laconia.
Medric served in the US Army during Viet Nam. He was employed at Bergen-Paterson as a welder for many years. He was a member of the VFW Post 1670 of Laconia and was a cook at the Post. He loved his cats.
Survivors include his parents of Laconia; 2 daughters Adonia Whittier and Abigail Whittier both of Col.; 3 grandchildren Wesley M. Whittier, Elizabeth Grace Brester and Andrew P. Brester; 2 brothers Argee Whittier and Antoine P. Whittier both of Laconia; 2 sisters Roxanne E. Whittier of Concord and Donna L. Garnett of New Hampton; 3 nephews and 13 nieces. His wife Grace G. (Hughes) Whittier died in 2007.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway Rt. 3 Boscawen.
