Helen Jackson Windham, 83, of Tifton died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Cypress Pond Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 5, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Elder John Mikell will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Jamie Cater, Bryan Moore, Ben Windham, Lee Honeycutt, Hunter Honeycutt, and Zack Windham will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 4, 2010, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Windham was born on August 8, 1926 in Cordele and was the daughter of Albert Harrison Jackson and Mamie Tatum Jackson, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norris V. Windham, Sr., who died in 1980; seven brothers; and one sister. She was a retired clerk with the City of Tifton and a member of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Windham is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Norris V. Windham, Jr. of Tifton and Stuart and Betsy Windham of Mathews, North Carolina; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynne and Jerry Hamby of Tifton and Carol Ann and Michael McGaughey of McDonough; her grandchildren, Marci Honeycutt, Lee Honeycutt, Benjamin Windham, Zachary Windham, Bryan Moore and Gerri Moore; and thre great grandchildren, Madison Honeycutt, Hunter Honeycutt and Emily Moore.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Tiftarea.
