EMBERTON, Louis C., 74, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010.
He was born on August 25, 1935 in Thompkinsville, KY to James Clarence and Orpha Ellan who preceded him in death. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who loved nothing more than his family.
He worked at GE for over 25 years before starting his own business, Emberton Building and Remodeling and retired as owner and operator. He was also the owner of Emberton Rentals and a member of Shively Baptist Church
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Guydell, Clifford, Manche, Fontis, Kermit and Jimmie Emberton and sisters, Alyne Emberton, Agnes Profitt, Naomi Embry, Lucy Bowles-Gleason and special niece and great nephew, Patty and Matthew Scott.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Betty; daughter Gina Case and her husband, Ed; grandsons, Braxton and Garrett (the light of his life), sister Isabel Gill, brother, Douglas “D.R.” Emberton and dozens of nieces and nephews.
His service will be 11am Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-8pm at the funeral home.
