Peter A. Lambie age 85 of Spring Bay, Illinois passed away at 10:30am Thursday July 1, 2010 at Maple Lawn Homes in Eureka.
He was born April 1, 1925 in Bartonville Il. to John and Jean (Kerr) Lambie. He married Florence H. Hill Sept. 6,1947 in Shorewood Il. She passed away June 28, 2008.
Surviving are his children Peter A. (Sheila) Lambie Jr. of Bartonville, Rob S. (Cindy) Lambie of Germantown Hills, and Jeanie (Phillip) Krumholz of Mapleton, Il. Grandchildren; Chaille (Ed) Karl of Peoria, MSGT Jeremy (Angie) Krumholz of Lakenheath England, Heather Miller of E. Peoria, Christine Towery of Ft. Meyers Fl, Deanna (Kieran) Gray of E. Peoria, Robin (Tom) Hastings of Washington Il, Jamie (Rob) Jeakins of Peoria, and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Marion Hopkins of Pekin, and one brother John (Billie) Lambie of Bartonville. He was preceded in death by four sisters, and two brothers.
Pete was founder Lambie Heating until 1985. He was a PFC in the U.S. Army during WWII. He served in the 129th Signal Radio Intel Company at Omaha Beach in Normandy France on D-Day, and also in Northern France, the Rhineland, and Central Europe where he was listing MIA several times. Pete was a Woodford County Board Member representing Spring Bay Township for 25 years, and also the Spring Bay Township Tax Assessor for 30 years. He wa a member of the Spring Bay American Legion Post #1115.
Services will be at 10:00am Tuesday July 6, 2010 at the Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Rev. Mel Nielsen officiating. Visitation will be from 5pm until 8pm Monday July 5, 2010 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel and also one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery where Military Rites will accorded by his Legion Post. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate and the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
