Obituary

Louise Stroud Nicholson, 86, Clarksville went to be with the Lord , Wednesday, the 30th day of June 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Brother Jim Killcullen officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday July 2 and from 11:00 am. until the hour of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Nicholson was born November 30, 1923 in Stroudsville, TN., daughter of Ewing Farmer Stroud and Lula Frey Stroud. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rufus Nicholson, one sister, Margaret Baker,two brothers, Tom Stroud and Fred Stroud, and her son-in-law Charles Powers. Mrs. Nicholson retired as a nurse from the Blanchfield Army Hospital at Ft. Campbell, KY. She was a faithful member of Madison Street Church of Christ for 51 years, where she was an active member of the Wednesday Morning Ladies Bible Class. Survivors include a brother, Grover Stroud, Orlinda, TN; daughter, Sue Powers; three sons, Steve Nicholson (Patsy); Alan Nicholson (Julie); Nick Nicholson (Sandy), all of Clarksville; eight grandchildren: Clay Powers, Ryan Nicholson, Allison Means, Brent Nicholson, Angelyn Nicholson, Adam Nicholson, Haley Ross, and Josh Nicholson. She has twelve great-grandchildren: Brandon Powers, Charlsie Powers, Jorden Means, Addison Means, Cooper Nicholson, Wyatt Nicholson, Reagan Nicholson, Noah Nicholson, Rylee Nicholson, Justin Albright, Alec Albright, and Travis Albright. Pallbearers will be Clay Powers, Ryan Nicholson, Brent Nicholson, Josh Nicholson, Adam Nicholson, Brandon Powers, Jeremy Means, John Ross, Jorden Means and Ronnie Greene. Honorary pallbearers are: Neil Jobe, Sam Stone, Larry Head, Jim Holleman, Gene Edwards, Ronnie Nicholson, Ben Stack, Larry McCoy, Mike Abernathy, Richard Byrd, Dwayne Byard,Bryce Sanders and the Wednesday Morning Ladies Bible Class. A special thank you to the 5th floor nurses at Gateway Medical Center and Gateway Hospice. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: the Disaster Relief Fund, 410 Allied Drive, Nashville, TN 37211-9902.
