Laconia-----Rita P. Wilkinson, 85, of 406 Court Street, Bishop Bradley Apts #306, died at the Saint Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. She was the widow of Robert H. Wilkinson who died in 2005.
Mrs. Wilkinson was born July 10, 1924 in Laconia, the daughter of George and Reina (Gouin) Phillips. She resided in Gilford for sixty years and in Brooksville, Florida for eighteen years before moving to Laconia seven years ago.
Mrs. Wilkinson graduated from Laconia High School. She worked at Scott & Williams as a bookkeeper and administrative assistant for two years and was office manager of the Wilkinson Auto Body Shop for seven years, retiring in 1980.
Mrs. Wilkinson was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed quilting and was an avid golfer. She was a member and membership chairperson of the Brooksville Country Club.
Mrs. Wilkinson is survived by two sons, William P. Wilkinson and his wife, Sherry, of Clarksville, Tenn. and Robert H. Wilkinson, Jr. and his wife, Margie, of Laconia; six grandchildren, Scott, Collin, Lauren, and Ian Wilkinson, Joy W. Huggins and Sara W. Staples; six great grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Brough, of Laconia and five nephews. Besides her husband and her parents, Mrs. Wilkinson was predeceased by a sister, Irene Phillips, by a brother, Raymond Phillips, and by a niece, Karen.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, N.H.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, N.H.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Saint Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Activities Fund, 406 Court Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
