Obituary

U.S. Army Specialist Scott Anthony Andrews, age 21, of Fall River, was Killed In Action on June 21, 2001 in Afghanistan while serving in “Operation Enduring Freedom”. He was the son of Alfred Andrews & Jo-Ann J. Mello, both of Fall River. He attended B.M.C. Durfee High School before receiving his G.E.D. Specialist Andrews was assigned to the 618 Engineers Co. of the 27th Engineer Battalion out of Fort Bragg.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his two brothers: Matthew Alan & David Evan Andrews and his Paternal Grandmother Lydia Andrews all of Fall River. He was the grandson of the late Margaret Mello.

His funeral with full military honors will take place SATURDAY with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. in Holy Name Church, Hanover St., Fall River. Interment with Full Military Honors will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Robeson St., Fall River. Calling hours FRIDAY 4-8 P.M. in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, MA 02720. In lieu of flowers, the parents respectfully ask that donations be made to the Bristol Community College Foundation for a scholarship to be established in memory of Spc. Scott A. Andrews.
