Beloved mother of Kathleen Hamilton and her husband Pete of Carrollton, Texas; Margaret McGrath of W. Bridgewater; James M. McGrath and his wife Janet of Marlboro and John J. McGrath of Brockton. Grandmother of Adam Myers; Laura and Anne McGrath and Michael McGrath. Sister of Rita Diamond of Everett and Kathleen J. Nerbonne of Brockton.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 10 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 14 Page Terrace, Stoughton, MA 02072.

Obituary

Mrs. McGrath died Monday at her home following a period of failing health. She was born in Dorchester, daughter of the late John J. and Margaret (O’Grady) Joyce. She was a lifelong resident of Brockton and a graduate of St. Patrick High School Class of 1939.

She retired from the Tax Collectors Office for City of Brockton after 20 years. Previously she worked in the catalog department of Sears Roebuck in Brockton.

She enjoyed reading and bingo and she was a huge Red Sox fan. Mrs. McGrath was a long time communicant of St. Patrick Church.

Survived by two daughters, Kathleen Hamilton and her husband Pete of Carrollton, Texas and Margaret McGrath of W. Bridgewater, two sons, James M. McGrath and his wife Janet of Marlboro and John J. McGrath of Brockton. Four grandchildren and two sisters Rita Diamond of Everett and Kathleen J. Nerbonne of Brockton and many nieces and nephews
