Lola Jane Grimes Watson, 83, of Tifton died Friday, June 25, 2010, at Golden Living Center. Funeral services were be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 28, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Steve Hand will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Josh Cooper, Brian Cooper, Mike Popp, Chris Stephens, Jason Watson and Ray Monk will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 27, 2010, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Watson was born on September 1, 1926 in Telfair County and was the daughter of William “Bill” Grimes and Ethel Conners Grimes, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Clyde Watson, who died on May 9, 2010; three brothers; and one sister. She was retired from Larkin Coil and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Watson is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Donna Watson of Tyrone and Tony and Sue Watson of Tifton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Elizabeth and Wyman Temples of Tifton and Dianne Watson of Sylvester; 19 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
