Ollie R. Thompson, Sr.
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, June 25, 2010 at Doctors Hospital, Mr. Ollie R. Thompson, Sr., 78, husband of the late Barbara Dukes Thompson.
Mr. Thompson, a lifelong resident of Augusta, was retired from the Augusta Police Department and Continental Can. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the North Augusta Country Club.
Family members include daughters: Kathy McKnight (David) of Evans, Marcia Ann Isbell (Carl) of Fayetteville, GA, Patricia Morrison (Barry) of Martinez; son: Ricky Thompson (Cathy) of Panama City, FL; brothers: Jimmy Thompson (Doris) of Hephzibah, Ted Lane of Martinez; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Thompson was predeceased by his brothers, Grady Thompson, Gene Thompson, Delbert Thompson and Robert Thompson.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 28, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Westview Cemetery with Rev. Bo Prosser officiating. The grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers in honor of their grandfather.
