Obituary

LITCHFIELD, NH: Russell David “Rusty” Williams, 53, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, MA following a brief illness. He was the husband of Sung-Ja (Jung) Williams.
Born in Gloucester, Massachusetts on April 18, 1957, he was the beloved son of the late Barbara J. (Barr) Williams, who died this past December, and the late Russell N. Williams. A Vietnam veteran, he joined the U.S. Army in 1975. He had served in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1978.
Russ was employed as a mechanical design engineer by the Deka Research & Development Corporation in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Memories of Russell’s life; his diligent devotion and love for his family, and service to his country, will endure forever in the hearts of those who survive him.
In addition to his wife of thirty-two years, he is survived by his three children,
Sae-Hee Williams and her companion, Matthew Palanski of Boston, Jin-Hee Williams and her companion, Timothy Prentiss of CA, Gabriel Williams of Litchfield, NH and his grandson, Timothy Prentiss of CA. He also leaves two sisters, Cynthia and her husband, Robert Tobey of Gloucester, Catherine and her husband Michael Slaven of Salem and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including his cousin and best friend, Norman Barr. He was also predeceased by his sister, Deborah Luther, brother, Robert Williams, nephew, David Porter and niece, Wendy Porter.
His funeral service will be held on Monday in the Beechbrook Cemetery, (Rte. 133 – Essex Ave.) Gloucester at 1 p.m. Relatives, friends and coworkers are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
