Marian M. Young, 78, of Fitzgerald died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, June 25 at Eastside Holiness Baptist Church with the Rev. Edsel Young, Rev. Gene Chaney and Rev. Ben Culpepper officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Young was born March 1, 1932 in Rebecca, Georgia to the late George W. and Lujean Crawford Mathis. She lived in the community most of her life. Mrs. Young was a homemaker and a former employee of Y & W Sportswear, H.R. Kaminsky & Sons and Southern Heritage Funeral Home. She was a member of Eastside Holiness Baptist Church. Mrs. Young was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Young is survived by her husband of 60 years: Claude V. Young of Fitzgerald; daughter and son-in-law: Judy & Randall Croy of Moultrie; sons and daughter-in-law: Larry & Janet Young and Tim Young, all of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jennifer (Ben) Culpepper, Chris Young, Jamie (Kelly) Croy; great grandchildren; Emily Culpepper, Joel Culpepper and Hartley Conger Croy; sister and brother-in-law: Jackie & Donald Shelton of Jacksonville, FL. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
