MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA: Elaine (Dube) Kershaw, 88, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 in the Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Raymond Kershaw who died in 1979.
Born in Turners Falls on January 9, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Francis Xavier and Dorilla (Gerard) Dube. Elaine was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and especially loved her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Elaine worked as a secretary at her husband’s marine survey business until his death in 1979. She also once did secretarial work for several companies and spent many years working at the former Brown’s Market and Crosby’s Market in Manchester until her retirement.
She is survived by a son and two daughters-in-law, Alan and JoAnn Kershaw and Heidi Kershaw, several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her son, Ralph Kershaw who died in 2001, three sisters, Bertha Dube, Florence Koskuba and Hazel Lemoine and three brothers, Francis, Leo and Ralph Dube.
