Obituary

Lawrence, MA- Joseph Toscano, 92, died Tuesday, June 22nd at the Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by those he loved.
Born on April 17th, 1918 and educated in Lawrence, Joseph was the son of Carmelo and Maria (Barbagallo) Toscano. During World War II, Joseph served his country in the US Navy. For many years Joe was a frame cutter at the Navy Yard in Portsmouth, NH.
In his younger days Joe enjoyed hunting. He was a member of the Sergeant Improvement club, the Lawrence Sons of Italy Lodge 902, as well as the Newburyport Boat Club. Joseph also enjoyed gardening in his spare time and was a great cook!
Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph Toscano Jr., and his wife Josephine of Lawrence, two granddaughters, Judy Carpentier and her husband Robert of North Andover, Jill Owen and her husband Shawn of Haverhill, 4 great-grandchildren Robert, CJ, Molly, and Sydney, nieces Joan Flaumenbaum of NY, Marie Maikisch of NY, Carole Harrington and her husband Daniel of Methuen, Joyce Wyman and her husband Artie of Methuen, as well as several other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his great nephews, Jimmy and Scott Maikisch of NY, Chris Lane and Joe Wyman of Methuen. He was pre- deceased by his siblings, Fred Toscano, Grace Enus and Carmela Carta.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday June 25th from 9:30-10:45 with a Funeral Service at 11AM. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence St., Methuen.
