Catherine I. (Nauiokas) Mawson a longtime Salem, NH resident died Sunday morning in Derry, New Hampshire, she was 94 years old. Mrs. Mawson was born, raised and educated in Lawrence, MA
She retired from the Salem, NH School District after several years working in the cafeteria. She was a former member of the Salem Woman’s Club the Enterprise Grange in Salem and a member of the Sound – a – bout Polka Dance Club where she served as a trustee. She was also a longtime member of St. Joseph Church also in Salem. Mrs. Mawson had strength of character after the death of her husband whom she admired and had a great deal of appreciation for as they shared many wonderful years together. They enjoyed camping and fishing together. She is also remembered for her baking cookies of many varieties for her family and friends and most importantly she was willing to move on when she felt the need.
She was the widow of Gordon J. Mawson who died in 1982

1 daughter, Beatrice & her husband William Lavoie of Salem, NH
10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church in Salem followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery also in Salem. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 3-5 & 7-9pm at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home 214 Main Street in Salem.
