Cecilia A. (Mueller) Pfaff, age 106, of Derry, NH, died peacefully Sunday at the Derry Health Care & Rehab, Derry, NH.
She was born in Harlem, N.Y. daughter of Marie (Kleinmann) and Franze Mueller of Germany and she was educated in New Jersey. She was a resident of Derry for the past 8 years, formerly of Lakewood, N.J.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Willard M. Pfaff, and her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth N. Pfaff.
Cecilia was a retired homemaker. She was an accomplished instrumentalist. She performed with equal facility on piano, chromatic harmonica, ukulele and acoustic guitar. She was also a gifted vocalist and shared her talents with her family, friends and her worship community. Cecilia’s musical gifts were passed on to her loving grandchildren, both of whom have fond memories of playing and singing with her around her piano.
She enjoyed handwork, textile arts & made beautiful braided rugs. She loved playing Scrabble, cards, Pinochle and working her daily crossword puzzle. Ceil stayed active all of her life by walking and routine exercise and lived her belief to do everything in moderation.
She is survived by her son Richard J. Pfaff of Kingston, NH and his companion, Linda M. Pavlini, of Hampstead, NH, and her daughter, Clare C. Darden, of Studio City, California.
Her grandchildren, Judith A. Pfaff of Epsom, NH, and Dr. William Pfaff & his wife Stephanie of Plattsburgh, NY, and several nieces & nephews.
Calling hours will be held Friday, June 25 from 11 AM – 12:30 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. A funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Church, Salem, NH. Burial will take place in New Jersey.
