Obituary

David K. Atkinson D.D.S., 93, formerly of Perrysville, PA, died Friday, June 18, 2010, in the Knollwood Nursing Center, West Boylston, MA. His wife of 71 years, Elizabeth Brandt Atkinson, died in 2007. He leaves his two daughters, MaryAnn and her husband William Abodeely of Shrewsbury, MA and Janet Candela of NC; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. His brothers and sisters all predeceased him. He was born in West View, PA, son of Daniel A. and Jane Fleming Kuhn Atkinson. He was a WWII Army veteran. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Pittsburgh and practiced dentistry for 47 years. Dr. Atkinson was a member of the Hiland Presbyterian Church, American Dental Assn., and the Hiland Country Club. In his retirement, Dr. Atkinson enjoyed being a Meals-on-Wheels volunteer.

A memorial service will be held at Hiland Presbyterian Church, 845 Perry Highway, Fri., July 9, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hiland Presbyterian Church, 845 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15229.
