Robert Winston Tucker, 69, of Tifton died Monday, June 21, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for funerals. Rev. Jason Jones will officiate with burial to follow in Pinetta Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwin County. Charlie Tucker, Richie Tucker, Brent Justice, Rusty Moore, Roger Henry, and Jimmy Stone will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Tucker was born on November 26, 1940 in Irwin County and was the son of Vivian Stone Tucker of Tifton and the late Marvin Winston Tucker. He was employed as an automotive body repairman and owned and operated Tucker’s Body Shop. He was also a former police officer and was one of the first graduates of the Police Academy at ABAC.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Tucker is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Connie Tucker of Tifton; one daughter and her fiancé, Patti Pack and Phil Sumner, both of Tifton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ander and Evelyn Tucker and Larry and Dona Tucker, both of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Ricky Justice of Tifton; three grandchildren, Zach Tucker, Kyle Pack and Russell Pack and his wife, Keree’; and one great grandchild, William Pack.
