Mary (Azimopoulos) Oozoonian, 78 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Wednesday morning at Willow Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Lowell on April 24, 1932, she was a daughter of the late George and Rose (Dube) Azimopoulos and received her education in the Lowell schools.
In her younger years, Mrs. Oozoonian was a seamstress at Lowell Dress Company and other various dress shops in Lowell. She was a member of St. Gregory’s Armenian Apostolic Church in North Andover and a member of the Ladies Guild of the Church. Mrs. Oozoonian enjoyed cooking, sewing and playing bingo but was most fond of her trips to Foxwoods.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years Armen G. Oozoonian of Lowell; two sons and a daughter in law, John Oozoonian of Jacksonville, FL and Armen G. Oozoonian Jr. and his wife Sossi of Tustin, CA; four grandchildren, Michael, John, Shaunt and Knar Oozoonian; a brother, Nicholas Azimopoulos of Lowell; a sister, Tassie Azimopoulos of Lowell; a sister in law, Queena Karibian and her husband Roger Berj of Lowell and a nephew, Marc Karibian.
OOZOONIAN- Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, June 22, from 4 until 8 pm at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 NESMITH ST (Rte 38). Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 23 at 11 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Should friends desire, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of St. Gregory’s Armenian Apostolic Church, 158 Main St. North Andover, MA 01845. Arrangements are by the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, LOWELL.
