Dartmouth - Amelia Vieira, age 59 years, died Thursday,June 17, 2010 at home after a long illness with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Jose Vieira of New Bedford. Amelia was the loving mother of Yvette Vieira of Dartmouth, Andrea Pimentel of Dartmouth and Jonathan Vieira of New Bedford. She is survived by four grandchildren: Alicia Andrade, Cameron Andrade, D- Jay Pimentel and Austin Pimentel, her siblings include Jose and Donaldo Cabral of New Bedford, Eduardo Cabral of Dartmouth, Paulo and Armindo Cabral of New Bedford and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jaime L. Soares and Lucas Cabral.
Mrs. Vieira was the daughter of Maria dos Anjos (Missao) Cabral and the late Jose M. Cabral. She was born in Salga, St Michael, Azores and moved here in 1966. Amelia was a stitcher at Cliftex Corp. and most recently worked at Hallmark Nursing Home as a Housekeeper.
Mrs. Vieira Funeral will be from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Tuesday at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday 5 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
