Carmello Napoli, 88 of Nashua, NH, died Saturday, November 8, 2003 in The Courville at Nashua. Mr. Napoli was born in New York City, NY on October 21, 1915, a son of the late Carmela Ingraffia. He was a resident of Nashua for the past two years, formerly living in Derry. Mr. Napoli was a graduate of Nassau Community College in New York. He was employed as a policeman for the New York City Police Dept for 23 years, retiring as a Sergeant. He was a lifelong member of MENSA. He was a volunteer firefighter in Barefoot Bay, FL until he was 80 and had been a member of the Kiwanis Club. He served on the Planning Board and the Conservation Committee in Derry. Mr. Napoli was proud of the fact that he ran for the first Mayoral position in Derry.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Veronica (Coghlan) Napoli of Nashua, NH, three sons, William Napoli of Alta Loma, CA, Robert Napoli of Derry, NH, Richard Napoli of Richboro, PA, seven grandchildren, Karen Sanders, Eric Napoli, Kristyn Napoli, Jonathan Napoli, Andrew Napoli, Victoria Napoli, Vanessa Napoli, two great-grandchildren, Kramer Sanders, Kassidy Sanders, one brother, Salvatore Napoli of Barefoot Bay, FL. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Pierattelli..
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, is handling the arrangements.
