WORCESTER-Walter E. Fitzsimmons, 60, formerly of Worcester, died Tuesday, June 15th in Kindred Hospital, Springfield. He leaves a daughter, Amber Sweeney of Oxford; two brothers, Robert F. Fitzsimmons and his wife Linda of Holden and Brian M. Fitzsimmons and his partner Christine Sullivan of North Grosvenordale, CT; a sister, Carol A. Farmer and her husband Philip of Leicester; nephews and nieces.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Edward F. and Thelma T. (Whalen) Fitzsimmons and graduated from South High School. Mr. Fitzsimmons owned and operated a salvage business for many years. He was a decorated Vietnam Era United States Marine Corps veteran and was a founder and past President of the Vietnam Veteran Motorcycle Club. He loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
The funeral and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Massachusetts Veterans Shelter, 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, is directing arrangements.
