Betty Johnson, 66, of Longview, Texas died Thursday, June 10, 2010, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M., Saturday, June 19 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Dr. LLoyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Fitzgerald from 7:00 until 9:00 Friday evening.
Mrs. Johnson was born March 30, 1944 in Fitzgerald, Georgia to R.E. and Evola Fitzgerald . She was raised by the late Roy E. and Laura Taylor Goodwin. She was a Fitzgerald High School graduate. Mrs. Johnson served in the United States Navy Reserves. She retired from Bell South in Atlanta
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her a son: Dean Jeffery “Jeff” (Melody) Johnson of White Oak, TX; brothers: Robbie (Cindy) Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald and Freddie (Phyllis) Mims of Tucker; sisters: Ronnie Mims of Orange Park, FL and Tomi (Lee) Suggs of Savannah; cousin: James Pope of Clay County, FL as well as several nieces and nephews.
