OBITUARY
Fitchburg, Peabody
Anne L. (Chesnes) Niemi, 89 of Peabody, former long time resident of
Fitchburg, died Saturday June 12, at Blueberry Hill Nursing Home in
Beverly.
Anne was born in Peabody, November 19, 1920, the daughter of Charles
and Mary (Latini) Chesnes. She grew up in West Boylston and attended
local schools. She lived in Fitchburg and Auburn, Maine and moved to
Peabody 10 years ago. Anne had been employed at the former Margolin
Co. in Fitchburg and later as a nursing assistant in Maine and Burbank
Hospital
Anne was a member of Rollstone Congregational Church, Lady Emma
Chapter Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary of West
Boylston. She was very artistic and loved baking.
Anne's husband of 28 years Toivo Ilmari Niemi, died March 6, 1971. She
leaves her son and daughter-in-law Toivo William and Karen Niemi of
Peabody, her brother and sister-in-law Andrew and Betty Chesnes of
Chicopee. She also leaves her grandchildren Eric T. and Emily P. Niemi of
Peabody. A cousin Michael Latini of Fitchburg and many nieces and
nephews.
Family and friends will assemble at the Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St.
Fitchburg at 12:30 P.M. Wednesday June 16. A graveside service will be
held at 1:00 P.M. at Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg. Contributions in her
