Obituary

Adalberto “Chello” Ayala of Provincetown, MA died June 6, 2010. Born April 30, 1949 in Puerto Rico, the oldest of 5 children, he was the son of t Rosa (Lopez) Ayala the late Juan C. Ayala. He lived in Puerto Rico until moving to New York and then New Britain, CT. After graduating high school he remained in Connecticut until the early '80s when he moved to Provincetown with his best friend Curtis Dionne. He worked at the Cape Colony Inn as a maintenance /laundry man, at the Surf Club bar as a doorman and as a flooring installer for Provincetown Carpets.

From 1984 until 1998 he and his former wife Anika owned and operated Que Pasa Carpet Company. When working as a doorman he would at times play his Conga drum as a 'guest' percussionist with the Provincetown Jug Band.

In addition to his former wife Anika Costa, he is survived by his 3 sons, Nathaniel, Isaiah and Jonas Ayala, his mother Rosa, his sisters Sandra, Margie and Maria, his brothers Reuben, Sardi and Chari, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father Juan, his brother Juan David, his sisters Rosita and Elizabeth and his best friend Curtis.

Visiting hours will take place at the Gately – McHoul Funeral Home 94 Harry Kemp Way Provincetown on Sunday June 13, 2010 from 1:00 – 4:00pm followed by a time of reflection from 4:00 – 5:00pm.
