Obituary

Samir M. "Sam" Karam, 72, of Dartmouth died Saturday June 12, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Ibtisam (Assaf) Karam.

Born in Beirut, Lebanon, the son of the late Michael and Olga (Haddad) Karam, he lived in Dartmouth for the past 37 years.

Mr. Karam was a building contractor who owned and operated Sam Karam and Sons Construction Company.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Olga Veilleux and her husband Jason of Fall River, Andre Karam and his companion Amanda Carvalho, and Daniel Karam, all of Dartmouth; his siblings, Fouad Karam and his wife Souad and Samya Housseir and her husband Sarkis, all of Lebanon, Khalil Karam of St. Louis, MO, and Marie Sfier and her husband Jack of California; two grandchildren, Maddox and Alexus Veilleux; his brother-in-law, Walid Assaf and his wife Morwenna; his sisters-in-law, Hiam Salibi and her husband Issam, Sahira Maalouf and her husband Milad, and Amal Assaf; and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Karam Karam.


His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 186 Cross Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
