Lurrice “Reese” Arnold, 54, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Thursday, November 6, 2003, at her home.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, November 8, 2003, at Ocilla Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Thomas and Rev. Eddie Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Old Valley Grove Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 P.M. Friday.
Mrs. Arnold was born May 4, 1949, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the Varney D. and Esther Hawes McClelland. She was retired Service Representative with the Social Security Administration in Tifton, Georgia with 20 years of service. Mrs. Arnold was a former employee of the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, Georgia, with six years of service. She was a member of Ocilla Baptist Church where she had served a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Arnold was a member of Contractors for Christ of the Georgia Baptist Convention and was the Georgia Emergency Management Agency Volunteer of the Year in 1988.
Mrs. Arnold is survived by her husband: Gene Arnold, Ocilla; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Morgan Eugene “Shotgun”, III and Jennifer Arnold, Tifton, GA; Steven Tate and Amy Arnold, Ocilla; 1 grandson: Morgan Eugene Arnold IV, Tifton; Parents: Varney and Esther McClelland, Ocilla; 2 brothers: Carey McClelland, Ocilla; Darien McClelland, Heavener, Oklahoma.
