Obituary

Sr. Constance Arsenault, CSC (Sr. Mary Constance of Rome, CSC), 94, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, Manchester died June 12, 2010 at Holy Cross Healthcare Center.
Born in North Cambridge, MA on May 5, 1916, she was the daughter of Fidele and Mathilda (Theriault) Arsenault.
She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1933 and made her final profession in 1940.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame College in Manchester, and studied at the Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Ontario specializing in school singing.
Sr. Arsenault taught for 38 years in Ontario, Canada at Alexandra, Ottawa, Apple Hill, Crysler and Lancaster. She also served as principal in Ontario at Cornwall, Lafontaine and Penetanguishene. She later taught in Montreal, Quebec for several years.
In 1972, she transferred to Brandon, FL where she ministered as a pastoral assistant and also established the Nativity Food Pantry, which served over 500 people daily. She retired to St. George Manor in Manchester in 2001.
Sr. Constance will be remembered for her great love and dedication to the poor in our society.
IN HER LIFE: The family includes a brother, Wilfrid Arsenault and his wife, Claire, of Framingham, MA; two nephews and several devoted cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, June 14, 2010 in the chapel of St. George Manor. Burial was at St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.
