Florence (Thwaites) Allard, 98, of Hampstead NH, died on Thursday June 10th
at Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood.
She was born in Lawrence, MA and was a graduate of Woodbury High School in Salem, NH. Florence was the daughter of Hannah (Tordoff) and Arthur Thwaites.
Florence was the last original Thwaites sister of Thwaites’ Market in Methuen.
She was a graduate from the Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing in January, 1933. She was a registered Nurse at the Bon Scour (Holy Family) Hospital for over 20 years. While living in Methuen she also worked and was co-owner of Thwaites’ Market.
Florence was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a loyal aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She was the widow of the late Walter E Allard with whom she shared 70 years of marriage.
She leaves her children, Sheila Allard Arold Gorham Wentworth of Hampstead, Tom Allard and his wife Betty of Haverhill MA, her daughter Karen Allard Winn of Brentwood NH, 8 grand children, 15 great grand children and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A Graveside Service will be at 12:00 P.M. Monday June 14th at Lakeview Cemetery, Kent Farm Road, Hampstead NH.
