Obituary

Elizabeth A. “Betty” (Noyce) Faulkner, a lifelong resident of Medford, died at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading on June 10, 2010. She was 80 years old.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on April 20, 1930, she was the beloved daughter of the late Charles and Ella M. (Scott) Noyce. Betty loved to listen to music and also loved to watch movies. In her spare time, she always enjoyed dancing.
She was the loving mother of Donna J. Close of St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania and Lori A. and her husband Gilberto M. Calhau of Medford, cherished grandmother of Timothy L. Close and his partner, Erin Wolfe, both of St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania and Christopher H., Melissa A. and Kelly E. Calhau, all of Medford, dear great-grandmother of Gianna Close and Daylin Wolfe, both of St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania and Jacqueline J. Calhau of Medford.
She was also the sister of the late William and Buddy Jones and Chick Noyce and Geraldine Palladino. Betty is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Robin Abel of Marblehead, Barbara DiNitto of Burlington and Beverly Ruscak of N.H.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visiting hours were held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
