Judith M. Alter, 77 of Revere passed away on June 9, 2010 unexpectedly. She was born in Winthrop and resided in Revere her whole life. Judith was educated in the Revere Schools and was a graduate of Revere High School. She was a vocalist and preformed in Massachusetts and all throughout New England. She was also a member of the American Guild of Variety Artists. Judith was a member of the Sisterhood of Congregation Tifereth Israel of Revere, and a member of the Sisterhood of Temple B’nai Brith. She was an employee of the Food and Drug Administration and a retired employee of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. Judith was a National Honor Society member and actively involved with the Revere High School class reunion committee.
Judith will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, sense of humor and of course her beautiful smile. She is also admired for her strength and endurance in the upbringing of her three sons on her own. One last thing give Gram a big hug and a kiss for us, we love you.
Judith was the devoted mother of Keith Sugarman, Robert Alter and his wife Suzanne, and Judd Alter. She was the loving daughter of the late David and Frieda Schwartz. She was the dear Sister of Janet Katz, and Philip Schwartz. Judith was the loving grandmother of Rhiannon Alter.
Services will be held at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., Cary Sq., Chelsea on Sunday June 13, 2010 at 10:30 AM. Internment in Everett. Donations in her memory may be made to Congregation Tifereth Israel, 43 Nahant Ave., Revere, MA 02151.
