Mitchell S. Wasnewsky, 85, of Medway died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Milford Regional Medical Center.
Born in Medway on April 4, 1925, he was a son of the late Chester W. and Ceslawa (Malachowski) Wasnewsky.
Mr. Wasnewsky was a lifelong resident of Medway and graduated from Medway High School in 1944.
Retiring in 1980, he was a communications specialist at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford for 32 years.
Mr. Wasnewsky was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Medway.
He is survived by a brother, Rev. Richard P. Wasnewski of Medway and a sister, Joan Shropshire and her husband, Edward of Millis. He was the brother of the late Lucille McGowan.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Debbie Bennet of Bellingham, Edward Paul Shropshire of West Palm Beach, FL, Patricia McGowan of Medway, Frances Hendrickson of California and Thomas McGowan of Medway and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday, June 10 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 - 6 p.m.
