Obituary

James V. Nicosia age 83 of Salem, NH, died Peacefully Sunday at the Salemhaven Nursing Home, Salem, NH.

He was born and educated in Lynn, MA. He was a resident of Salem for the past 41 years, formerly of Lynn.

Mr. Nicosia was a retired manager for Lucent Technologies in North Andover, MA. He was also an electrician and owned his own business. Jim was a US Army veteran, serving during World War II, and was a member of the American Legion Post in Salem. Jim loved to sing and was a member of the Salem Senior Singers, & the Sunshine Spreaders of the VFW. He was a former member of St. Joseph Church in Salem, where he was a member of the choir. Jim loved to help people and fix things for them. He was also an avid bridge player and was a life master in contract bridge.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Annamarie (Pitzi) Nicosia of Salem, NH

1 Son: Joseph & his wife Margaret Nicosia of Westford, MA

2 Daughters: Maryanne Nicosia & her husband William Tarmey of San Diego, CA
Andrea & her husband Alan Zalewski of Pelham, NH

Brother in Law: Vincent & his wife Patricia Pitzi of Enfield, CT

Grandchildren: Jennifer & Jill Zalewski, & Kathryn Nicosia

Several Nieces & Nephews

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 10 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Church, Salem, NH. Cremation will follow.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 9 from 4-7 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
