TEWKSBURY - Edwina Dorothy "Vicki" Wiktorowicz, age 84, a retired telephone operator, died Sunday morning, June 6, at her Tewksbury home, after a brief illness.
She was born in Tewksbury, June 13, 1925, a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Wojtas)Wiktorowicz, was raised in Tewksbury, was a member of the Holy Trinity Polish Church in Lowell, but had lived the greater part of her life in the Patterson and Passaic areas of New Jersey.
She worked for the telephone company in Northern New Jersey, and retied from AT & T after more than 40 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club. Since retirement, she had divided her time between New Jersey and Tewksbury.
She is survived by her son, Jonathan Barnes Sr. of Tewksbury; a brother, Moody Wiktorowicz also of Tewksbury; four grandchildren, Jonathan Barnes Jr., and Heather Marie Barnes both of Winthrop, Candace Marie Blumberg and Karen Michelle Parr both of VA; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews in the Wilson family, based in the Concord, MA, area.
She was also sister of the late Walter Joseph Wiktorowicz, Joseph Wiktorowicz, and Stella Soda.
Her Funeral Mass was held Thursday, June 11, the Holy Trinity Polish Church, Lowell, MA. Following cremation, burial will be with her late brother in St. Mary's Cemetery, No. Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the MSPCA Nevin's Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844, will be appreciated.
