New Bedford – Harold G. Vaughan, Jr., 91, of Mattapoisett died June 2, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was husband of the late Marion L. (Sylvaria) Vaughan.
Mr. Vaughan was born in New Bedford, son of the late Harold, Sr. and Lena (Bettencourt) Vaughan, and resided in Rochester and Mattapoisett. He was employed as a lumber yardsman by Dennis Mahoney & Sons until his retirement. He found enjoyment in helping his neighbors at the senior housing and volunteering in the dining area.
Survivors include a daughter: Pat Sylvia of New Bedford; a son: Roland E. Vaughan of St. Augustine, FL; a sister: Mary Gray of Marion; a brother: Clifton Vaughan; his sister-in-law: Lorraine Vaughan of Rochester; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; and several nieces & nephews.
