Obituary

WORCESTER-Joseph D. Krosoczka, 81 of Worcester passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 2nd in the Jewish Healthcare Hospice Center. His loving wife of 59 years, Shirley R. Krosoczka passed away on July 13, 2007. Joseph is survived by his six children and eleven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews: Joseph M. and Diane M. Krosoczka of Spencer; Leslie A. Krosoczka of Worcester; Stephen A. and Melissa M. Krosoczka of Paxton and their children Megghan, Shannon and Ryan; Lynn A. and Michael P. Boyle of Grafton and their children Michael, Brittany, Matthew and Griffin: Holly A. and Brian V. O’Neil of Worcester and their children Ashley, Allison and Amanda; Jarrett J. and Gina M. Krosoczka of Northampton and their daughter Zoe. He was predeceased by his brother, E. David Cross and six sisters, Jennie Gibris, Mary Bogigian, Josephine Dudek, Beatrice Lohnes, Helen Cook and Anna Altieri.

Joseph was born in Worcester, the son of Joseph and Anna (Kozlowski) Krosoczka. He served in the U.S. Navy and received the WWII Victory Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal. He graduated from Commerce High School and then worked for several companies through the years, including Norton and K & C Machine before establishing several manufacturing businesses. In 1955 he founded Sem-Tec, Inc. a Massachusetts based supplier servicing the ball valve industry, followed by Atlantic Ball Valve Corp. and Tubevalv, Inc. Joe was a member of Our Lady of Angels Parish, the Worcester Lodge of Elks and enjoyed spending time with his family and at his vacation home in Hampton Beach, NH. He will be remembered for his kindness, caring heart and sense of humor. We feel truly blessed to have had Joe as our father, grandfather, and mentor and will miss him more than words can express.

The funeral is Saturday, June 5th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, June 4th from 6:00 until 9:00PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
