Eugenia M. Odom 89, of Mendon Rd. died Wednesday in the Phillip Hulitar Center. She was the wife of the late Elton Odom Sr. Mrs. Odom was born in D'Lo MS a daughter of the late Eugie and Myriam (Murry) McLain. She lived most of her life in Laurel , MS. Mrs. Odom retired from Sears where she worked as a credit manager. She was a member of the West Laurel Baptist Church for over fifty years.
She is survived by a son Elton Odom Jr. and his wife Rachel of Woonsocket, RI; a bother James McLain and his wife Phyllis Jean, of Lake Dallas, TX; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Odom was predeceased by a son Larry N. Odom, a daughter Jeannie Haynes, three brothers Joe H., Lewis F. and William R. McLain, and a sister Doris Crigler.
Visiting hours will be held Friday from 5-7 PM in Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 3100 Audubon Dr., Laurel, MS. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM in West Laurel Baptist Church, burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel, MS. A memorial service will be held Saturday June 12th at 10:00 AM in the Arnold Mills United Methodist Church, Nate Whipple Hgwy. Cumberland, RI. Local arrangements are under the directions of the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home.
