Maurice "Maury" Nogueira, 63, of New Bedford died June 1, 2010 at New Bedford Health Care Center after a brief illness.
He is the husband of Sharon A. (Rego) Nogueira.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Humberto and Maria C. (Ferro) Nogueira, he lived in Freetown and New Bedford all of his life.
He was the co-owner of Seaboard Express for over 35 years.
Mr. Nogueira was a member of the Westport Hogs Motorcycle Club and the Panther's Club. He was a former member of the Prince Henry Society, the New Bedford Country Club and the American Federation of Musicians.
He loved his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, his bird Harley and his many "Best Friends".
Survivors include his wife; a son, Chris Nogueira of New Bedford; a daughter, Sheri-Ann Nogueira of New Bedford; a brother, Robert Nogueira of New Bedford; a sister, Magdalen Costa of Hillsdale, VA; 4 grandchildren, Natalya, Bryanna, Nicholas and Haleigh; his dear aunt, Lolly Oliveira; several nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren and an uncle.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Saturday, June 5th at 7:45 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday, June 4th from 3-8 PM.
