Obituary

Thomas Ferraro, 62, of Mattapoisett passed away on Monday, Memorial Day, May 31, after an eleven year battle with prostate cancer. He was President of Ferraro Communications, Inc. based in Needham, Massachusetts.

A native of Massachusetts, in 1967, Tom began a life-long career in communications as a staff aide in Washington, DC, to Massachusetts United States Senator Edward W. Brooke. Leaving after serving as the communications director for Brooke’s successful re-election campaign in 1972, Tom worked 6 years in the Boston advertising firm, Provandie, Eastwood and Lombardi, where he rose to the position of Executive Vice President for Creative Services. In 1978, he founded Ferraro Communications, Inc. which has since provided corporate communications services to a wide variety of regional, national and international companies and institutions.

Tom is the son of Anthony and Dora Ferraro, now deceased, formerly of Framingham and Brewster, Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife, Christine of Mattapoisett; his brother, Eugene and his wife JoAnn Ferraro, of Andover; niece, Amy Ferraro and nephew Christopher Ferraro both of Andover; his longest and dearest friend, Catherine Perry, and his godchild, Erica Singer, both of Swampscott.

Calling Hours will be held Friday, June 4, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Road, Mattapoisett, Massachusetts [phone 508- 758-2292].

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 22 Barstow Street, Mattapoisett, MA at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 5.

A reception brunch will follow the Mass at the Bay Club of Mattapoisett.

From Boston: Travel Route 24 South to I-495 South. Continue on I-495 to Exit 1, I-195 west. Travel west to Exit 19A, Mattapoisett. Exit and turn right (south) onto North Street. Continue 1 mile to the traffic signal. Turn right (west) onto County Road (Route 6) then continue up 2 blocks turning left onto Barstow St. The church is up 1 block on your left.
