Obituary

Mary (Robilotto) Nunnari, of Quincy, a devoted caregiver and mother, died on May 27, 2010 at Milton Hospital. She was 86.

Mary was born and raised in Boston living in the South End and Dorchester. She had been living in Quincy since 1956.

Mary was steadfastly devoted to caring for others, especially her family. For many years, she served as a tender caregiver to three of her children as they battled cystic fibrosis. Despite the pain and stress of losing two of her children to the disease, she never wavered in her commitment to others. From caring for her elderly mother to making her famous fudge and pizzelles or knitting afghans for her family, Mary always put other people first.

Though her devotion to caring for her family could be difficult, Mary still kept her sense of humor and sense of fun. She remained active bowling, participating in the activities of the St. Ann’s Mariannes, playing bingo and taking the occasional trip to Foxwoods.

Mary was the loving and devoted wife of 60 years to the late Leo P. Nunnari, the caring mother of Jean Peachey and her husband James of Quincy, Antoinette McCarthy of Quincy, Lisa Nunnari and her fiancé Thomas Snow of Weymouth and the late Thomas and Ann Marie Nunnari; the much loved “Grandma” to Gregory Peachey and his fiancé Donna, Lori Peachey and her boyfriend Jeff, Valerie Peachey, Brandi McMahon and Her husband Rich, Kelli Peachey and her fiancé Chris, Michelle McCarthy and her partner Margaret and Peter McCarthy; the special “Grammy” to her great-grandchildren Jacob, Stephanie, Alex and Tyler; and the sister of the late Margaret Poupolo, Frank, Patrick, Catherine and Leonard Robilotto, her twin. She is also survived by many devoted friends some of whom faithfully visited her every week.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Wednesday, June 2 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.

A Life Celebration service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Roslindale.
