Obituary

Worcester – Roger W. Fassett, 59, of Worcester died on Friday, May 28, 2010 in Saint Vincent Hospital unexpectedly after being stricken ill at home.

Roger is survived by his wife of 16 years Mary (Atchue) Fassett; his children Christal Fassett, Carrieann Fassett, William Fassett and his companion Evelyn Flores, Edward Derosier and his companion Aimee Judice and her three children Anthony, Codie & Emma, all of Worcester; his brother and sister in laws Wayne Atchue and his wife Kristen and Jane Deneault all of Auburn and 1 nephew and several nieces.

Mr. Fassett was born in Worcester, son of the late Arthur and Marie (Routhier) Fassett and is a graduate of South High School Class of 1969. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army being stationed in Germany from 1971-1973

Roger worked as a wire drawer for 40 years for Johnson Steel and Wire Company as well as Astro, Concord Wire and Sancliffe Company.

He was a family man who loved to cook, ice fish, fishing, gardening and traveling with his wife. He was a Boy Scout Leader for many years, a member of the Auburn Lodge of Elks and was an avid sports fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 2, from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street with a Mass at 10 AM in Saint Peter’s Church 931 Main Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are on Tuesday, June 1, from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
