Mr. Joseph J. Zizza, age 75, of Medford formerly of Boston´s North End, passed away Saturday following a lengthy illness. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Constance (Marrena) and Alphonse Zizza. He was the beloved husband of the late Lydia N. (Cataldo). Mr. Zizza was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. Following his service in the Army he began working as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and worked for almosy thirty years until his retirement. Mr. Zizza enjoyed music and traveling. Mr. Zizza is survived by his daughter Denise DiFrancesco of Burlington and his sons, Mark of Boxford and Joseph of Reading. He is the uncle of Kenneth Cataldo. He is also survived by eight loving grandchildren. Brother of John Zizza of Wayland, Janet Comerford of North Reading, Constance Smith of Burlington and Marilyn DiFonzo of Medford.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Tuesday at 8:45 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Leonard Church, Hanover St. Boston, at 9 :45 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 8. Services will cocnlude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
