QUINEBAUG, CT – Mary F. (Mack) Navis, 85, died Thursday, May 20, 2010 in Westview Health Care Center, Dayville, after an illness. Her husband, Florian J. Navis,died in 1992.
She leaves 3 nieces, Kathleen Chahanovich and Barbara Gaudion, both of Quinebaug, and Patricia Guilbault of Putnam; a sister-in-law, Ruth Mack and a cousin, James C. Mack both of Quinebaug.
She was born in Thompson, the daughter of Edward F. and Margaret T. (Bourke) Mack, and lived in Quinebaug most of her life. She was a graduate of Tourtellotte Memorial High School in North Grosvenordale.
Mrs. Navis was a quality control technician at the American Optical Company in Southbridge, MA for many years before retiring.
She was a member of Saint Stephen’s Church, where she served as the organist for over 40 years.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 5, in Saint Stephen’s Church, corner of Rts. 197 & 131, Quinebaug. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Donations in her name may be made to either Saint Stephen’s Church, PO Box 222, Quinebaug, CT 06262 or to Westview Health Care Center, 150 Ware Road, PO Box 428, Dayville, CT 06241. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster, MA.
