Genevieve (Kupiec) Kamionek, 95, of New Bedford died Monday May 24, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Stephen Kamionek.
Born in Utica, NY, the daughter of the late Josef and Emilia (Chrabasz) Kupiec, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
Mrs. Kamionek was formerly employed as an inspector at Acushnet Company Golf Ball Division.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending family gatherings.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth A. Caron and her husband Robert of Dartmouth; her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Kamionek of Seekonk; seven grandchildren, Stephen, Kathleen, and Ted Kamionek, Lynne Rooks, Lisa, Thomas, and John Caron; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Stephen J. Kamionek, M.D., and sister of the late Stanley, Bill, and Bertha Kupiec.
Her family will receive visitors on Friday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford followed by her Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 11 AM.
