Diane L. Thatcher, 61 of Derry, NH, died Friday, October 31, 2003 in the Parkland Medical Center in Derry. Mrs. Thatcher was born in Boston, MA on February 4, 1942. She was a resident of Derry for almost 30 years. Mrs. Thatcher received her BA in Philosophy and Religion from Lawrence University, Appleton, WI and a MA in Religious Education from the Hartford Seminary Foundation, now known as the Hartford Seminary, Hartford, CT. She later received her MSED in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Wheelock College, Boston. She was a Chair and Professor of Early Childhood Education at Hesser College in Manchester, NH from 1987-1991. She was employed from 1992-1994 as an Instructor of Education and Supervisor of Field Work at Wheelock Graduate School in Boston, MA. She was most recently employed as an artist and an instructor of painting and drawing for children at the Munroe Center of the Arts in Lexington, MA.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce A. Thatcher of Derry, NH.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 2nd from 2 - 4PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services will begin at 4:00PM. Cremation will follow.
