Obituary

Helen D. Forgione, 83 of Stoneham, died Sunday after a long illness in the Wakefield Care & Rehabilitation Center, Wakefield, MA.

Born in Charlestown, she lived in Stoneham for the past 6 years and formerly of Medford. She was the daughter of the late Marcella (Gregori) and Charles Tracia. Helen worked for the former F.W. Woolworth at Fellsway Plaza in Medford for 25 years, starting as a cashier and retiring in 1990 as a supervisor. She loved to sew and make many of her own clothes. She also loved to travel with her husband and family. Some of her favorite trips were to Disney World, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls and cruising to Bermuda. Helen’s family was her pride and joy, she loved every minute she was with them. She loved butterflies and collected them.

Beloved wife of 61 years to Joseph V. Forgione. Devoted mother of Charlene Ellis and her husband John of Stoneham, Joseph Forgione and his wife of Ann of North Grafton, Robert Forgione and his partner Susan Duane of Malden. Loving grandmother of Jason Ellis of Chelmsford, Jeremy Ellis of Boxborough, Michael Forgione of Boston and Angela Forgione of Malden. Loving great grandmother of Christopher and Liliana Ellis. Sister of Connie Mancuso, Doris Longo, Debbie Lally and the late Anna Ciampa.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8.

Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in Helen’s name to the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts Chapter, Attention: Development Department, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
