Oveda Harper Fussell, 93, of the Lax Community died Monday, May 17, 2010 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Union Primitive Baptist Church in Coffee County with Elder Ed McIntyre and Elder Phillip Smith officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Fitzgerald from 6:00 until 9:00 Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Fussell was born July 10, 1916 in Irwin County to the late Ed and Irene Raffield Harper. She was a retired farmer and Avon representative. Mrs. Fussell lived in the community most of her life. She was a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Fussell is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Janice & Lem Hattaway of Lax Community; son and daughter-in-law: Travis & Linda Fussell of Fitzgerald; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joel William Fussell three sons; Carroll Fussell, William N. Fussell and Larry Gene Fussell, two brothers and three sisters.
