Obituary

FLEMING, MEGAN E. of South Boston at age 53. Megan passed away surrounded by her loving husband & family on Saturday after a nearly eight year fight with breast cancer. She was happily at home with her Nancy Drew books, crafting items & her writings. She may best be remembered by her South Boston neighbors for handing out her Halloween candy wrapped in interesting hand-made paper creations like spiders, coffins, cauldrons etc.. Megan was a 35 year employee of the Boston Public Library working In the Special Collections Dept.. She was particularly proud of her 2005 Nancy Drew 75th Birthday Celebration. When asked what she would like at her wake, Megan, always a student of the odd & bizarre, said, "Tear Bottles". Otherwise, in lieu of flowers she would like donations to the Alliance for Animals, 232 Silver St., So. Boston, MA 02127. Megan would also like to say "Buy Raw Milk!" She & her husband would like to give a special thanks to her three sisters who have always been especially helpful. She is survived by her husband Neil Morrison. She is the daughter of Eleanor M. (Tuinila) & the late James R. Fleming. Her sisters Susan Fleming, Paula Fleming, Janet Fleming & brother David Fleming all of South Boston & James Fleming & his wife Kristine of Reading & Fluffy the Cat. Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON, Tuesday, 4-8 PM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Peter's Lithuanian Church,Wednesday, May 19, at 10 AM.
